One part of a 12-piece collection by Italian brand Alessi that celebrates 100 years of research in design and applied arts, this previously unproduced corkscrew by Ettore Sottsass brings the designer's signature coloured volumes to the table. Once described by Sottsass as a tool that is both effective and emotional, the corkscrew is comfortable to hold thanks to an ergonomic shape, while the use of hand-turned beechwood in shades of red, pink and yellow is a punchy reminder of the designer's love of colour. Crafted using planet- and human-friendly solvent-free paint and wood cut from sustainably managed forests, the corkscrew is not just a pleasure to use, it's responsibly made.
